If you have been notified that your account needs verification, please follow the below steps:

  1. Log in to your site.

  2. From the left navigation menu, click Business Tools.

  3. Click SE Payments.

  4. At the top of the screen, click the SEPayments Settings tab.

  5. Once on the SE Payments Settings page, you will see a Required Information tab and be asked to update the information that needs to be verified. (You will see the existing information under the fields you are asked to update).

Suppose you are asked to update the organization's Tax Identification Number [TIN]. In that case, it is essential that the information you enter for your business name and tax ID number exactly match the information displayed on your official IRS-issued documentation, such as your SS-4 confirmation letter or your Letter 147C (the record of how your business is filed with the IRS).

The IRS may display business names and/or owners' names or other unexpected combinations of information in their records. Adding the owner's name to the business name is a standard naming convention for LLCs.

To verify this information:

  1. The full name must be entered exactly as displayed on these forms, including upper/lower case, symbols, and punctuation placement.

  2. When in doubt, enter all information listed above the business address.

  3. If several lines are above the address, enter all details on one line separated by single spaces.
